Night Photography Safari Workshop | Creative Edge

I was looking forward to this workshop because we were going to shoot at the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Park. We started started photographing our model Channing  in late afternoon light. Next, we shot at sunset and finished up shooting under night lighting. Since our locations are surrounded by the City of Atlanta, we had many incredible backdrops!!

An architectural shot of the Aquarium, you only have a very small window of time to shoot this when there is just a touch of daylight in the sky.  Shooting in tungsten white balance allows me to get the touch of blue in the sky.

Here we are working with available light.  The challenge is doing this when the light is dropping very quickly.

I brought  along an umbrella as a prop. In the next couple of shots you will see how it help add a splash of color and design to the images.

Here we are shooting under available light for the background and adding a portable video light to match the lighting in the background.    Below we set up a studio light with a soft box and created nice wrap around light and pulled the lighting in the background by shooting from a tripod.

We are shooting from a tripod and using a video light and a long exposue for the city lights. What a fun photo!!!!!!!!!!!!
