Some of my favorite children clients modeled for this workshop, making it even more special. Winter, Jet and Peyton are all amazing to work with and we captured their individual personalities to the hilt!! Our children’s workshops are all about how to capture moments, emotion and the personality of childen. We also go over how important clothing choices and physical locations are to a shoot. We want to show how different lenses can really help deliver the look you really want!! Lighting is so important….so we spent lots of time going over all kinds of lighting. The primary focus at all of our workshops is creativity and how to be an artistic photographer. Look at all the adorable images that follow………….

Watch for expressions and never put your camera down. If the child you are photographing get’s in a bad mood, yes may have to wait it out or bribe them but keep your eyes open because you may see a moment that is there one second and gone the next. Loved the texture of the wood for this shot but there was no light under the room of this barn to bounce the light into her face so we used a LED video light to make our own sun. Just because you can meter and use a high ISO and get a good exposure does not make it a good shot. There is too many photographers that shoot with flat boring light, if there is not light and it is flat then bring in some sun and in this case our sun is a video light..jpg "Photography-workshop-children08")

This old barn made for a great background for these images and I love black and white to make it timeless.
