Anna and Alexis were both excellent models for our Nature Workshop. Capturing images with the model as your subject and then blurring the water in the background is one of the many techniques you will learn in this workshop. Learning to be in a natural setting, working with the sun moving in and out of the clouds and selecting the right lens to correct for the continual movement, is yet another advanced skill that you will have when you complete this session. At all workshops, the models sign a release, so you can use these images in your portfolio, website, blog and/or facebook.
Look at the shot above and see how the water is flowing and smooth like milk? Then look at the top shot and see who the water is frozen which is what you would get when you just stand there and shoot with hand held camera. To get the water flowing like milk you need to be on a tripod and and using a long exposure probably around 1/4 shutter speed but you be the judge on how much you want it to blur. Also use a cable release and make sure your tripod is very sturdy and if you have a person in the picture they will have to be very still.Love the sunlight in the background, use the sunlight to shape your images and add interest so the shot is not flat.Putting her directly into the pattern of the sun makes a much more interesting shot. This image was shot with very little light left but we shot it on a tripod and used a video light on our model.
Very good!!! I would like my photos to be as good as these one day!!
