Photography is such a great profession. We’ve been crazy busy of lately with wedding season over at Moreland Photography. But we still find the time to host photography workshops on Sundays. During wedding season, we only host about one a month so we don’t fall behind. For the month of May we had an Intro to Photography Workshop at Bulloch Hall. We’ve never hosted a workshop here, so it was a lot of fun to explore the historic grounds and come up with new backgrounds and places to shoot! We had a great turnout with a really fun group of students. First, I’d like to share a few images from the instructors.
For our learning the basics hands on photography workshop, we always host an in-class contest. Students get two weeks to send in their images, edited or unedited, so we can send them to the models. But much cooler than that, we produce little feedback videos, so you can find out what makes your image awesome, and how you can improve! It’s not just a one-and-done class, we love photography and we really want you to succeed! The final element in student submission is winning a free photography workshop of choice! We have many specialty courses to choose from as well as our Intermediate class where we teach about using the flash!
Without further ado, our winning image from the May 3rd workshop! Michelle sent in a great image of Ali. We love the lighting and the depth of field! Great job!
One of our runners up is Titus! Coincidentally another picture of our great model Ali! I love the awesome highlights in her hair, and the glow she seems to have when she smiles!
Our final runner up for the date is Adrian! You’ve got a great depth of field happening here, but she’s a little under-exposed.
Overall everyone is off to a great start! Congratulations to Michelle for winning a free workshop, and we hope to see everyone again soon!
