LIGHTS, CAMERA, CUE MUSIC…….and off we GOOOOOO………..!!                      For this lighting workshop, I wanted to put our models in every kind of lighting situation possible in three hours of time.  We shot with daylight, sunlight, studio lighting, off camera lighting, outdoor lighting and video lighting.

How can you get deep blue skies in your portrait shots?  Do not be afraid to put the model in direct sunlight, it can get you very saturated beautiful images!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we exposed for a saturated sky and added an off camera flash inside a soft box to light her face.  An off camera flash in a small soft box is a great way to get studio quality lighting outdoors.

Yes….. we even had a band at the shoot!!! Everybody learned lighting, posing large groups and got to listen to music all at the same time. What a FUN workshop this turned out to be………..  In this shot, we had two off camera lights and two portable soft boxes.  We underexposed the sky by two f-stops with our shutter speed to make it saturated and matched the off camera lighting to our f-stop.

As the light dropped, we switched from our off camera light to my light of choice, my video light.  Lexi’s face is lit with a portable video LED light.  Beautiful…………………

The remaining images were taken when there was just a snatch of daylight left in the sky.  We set our camera to tungsten white balance and used a portable video light with a tungsten filter (85B) to add light to their faces.
