Every workshop we have an in-house competition! The student with the best work receives their next photography workshop free! This strongly encourages students to submit their images for valuable feedback. During our workshops, we do a lot of hands-on teaching. Which means, you get to ask questions about the photograph you just took. However sometimes, what looks amazing on the tiny camera screen doesn’t look as great on your computer. That’s why we also teach our students about the histogram to make sure your in camera exposures are correct! This student, along with several others, submitted many wonderful photographs!
For their first time learning to use their dSLR on Manual Mode you can see why this image was the winner! Anna, our model, is well lit, with proper exposure. The composition is nice, with no branches sticking out of her head, etc. The sharpness is pretty much spot on! But the real icing on the cake that made us choose this image over the rest was in addition to a well exposed, well constructed image, the photographer also captured the personality of Anna perfectly! We’ve worked with Anna many times in the past, and it’s not always easy to capture a model’s personality when they are told to model! Congratulations to Elizabeth! Well done! We look forward to you and all of our other students returning for another Creative Edge photography workshop!
