This Intro to Photography Workshop took place at a Historic Home in downtown Historic Roswell! The weather was perfect, a sunny day with a slight breeze. We started with an hour and half of going over the technical elements of their cameras and of photography. Then we set on the hands-on portion of the workshop! There were many models, including our pregnant momma, Christina and her little son Lee, so cute! The models dedicated their time and beauty to get images from the students in return. Christina was THRILLED with the maternity pictures that the students took! Some of the things we review were as big as the main functions of ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. To the importance of little elements like RAW vs. JPEG, color balance, and correct file settings.
Here are some images from our instructors:
We also hold a contest at every workshop to see who can capture the most visually stunning image. Each student submits their favorite images and then we pick our favorite! The winner of the competition gets to attend one of our workshops for free!
The second runner-up is Dan. We love this cute little action shot of Lee. While mom was having her picture taken, we love that you went off and found Lee occupying himself. Your composition is strong, great thinking getting low to the ground to get on his level, that makes for a much more involved atmosphere.
The first runner-up is Courtney. Gorgeous exposure and composition of Christina. Everything looks great!
The winner of the competition with our favorite photo is Sneha! Congrats! We chose this picture because your exposure looks really good, but also you got a little creative and tilted the camera for a slightly-off persepctive. Clean lines are great, but sometimes moving around and seeing things from a different angle can change the mood, and presence of a picture.
Great job!
A huge great job to all our students. Thank you for coming out and joining us for another Intro to Photography Safari! We hope to see you guys soon, at the Intermediate workshop in March!
