Introduction to Photography Workshop | Creative Edge

In the July heat, we managed to have an amazing Introduction to Photography workshop!  The single most important factor in every workshop is taking students on  a real photo shoot.  You are never going to just sit in our studio and mindlessly snap photos; we get out (yes, even in the heat!!) and help you learn how to capture images on your camera that you imagine in your mind.  We give you the tools to put your innate creativity to work!! We put Jamie in every kind of lighting condition possible, so our students can  gain confidence working with all types of lighting.  Even though this is a beginner class, we want every student to leave with a new found belief in their creativity with their camera. Please scroll through the following images and enjoy…….!!

I love shooting with my clients off center, not only is this more interesting to me but would be a great two page spread in a book.  If you love creating books then you need to compose for them as you shoot.Expressions, expression, and expressions.  You have to play with you subjects, it does not matter if they are 3 years old or 93 years old….play with them and capture who they are.Yes this may be a beginner workshop but I wanted everybody to walk away with the best images they ever shot.  These images are all available light to capture the cool lighting that was already there and we added a video light into her face with a tungsten gel.  If you love the shot but not sure what I am talking about, then come to some of our workshops and you will know what to do.If you go outside about 30 minutes after sunset when there is just a tiny bit of light in the sky and set your camera to tungsten white balance and use a video light with a tungsten gel not only will you get cool dramatic lighting with the video light in your subjects face but the tungsten white balance outside will make the sky go dramatic blue.  You only have about ten minutes in the day to get this shot so shooting at the very right time of day is very important.
