What a great workshop….we had great students, perfect weather and Diana was an amazing model. We spent the first hour at our studio- going over technique, camera settings and making sure everybody was very comfortable with their camera. Then, we went on location and everybody took pictures in complete manual mode with a wide variety of lighting conditions. Please look at the images that follow and understand what an awesome experience everyone had…………….!!!
I will keep saying it and saying it. Eyes make a great portrait!Just by adding a hat and having her look through the lace, what a difference! This is shot in a hallway with a video light.I love natural light but it makes a huge different if they are looking into an open sky versus a large tall trees that block the beautiful natural light. Just a little splash of color and some texture and a great model. That is all you need! Plus coming to our workshop so we can open up your creativity. Can you imagine just getting your camera and coming to a beginner workshop to figure out what knob you are suppose to turn and you come back with images like these?Location, Location , Location. So important, also shooting at the right time of day and having your subjects in the right kind of clothes. The two shots above were shot in a very busy commercial area with gas stations, stores etc all around. So what do you do? Shoot up and let the sky become your background. Not only do you eliminate distracting background but the shots look cool!
