Sometimes you need a change of scenery! I’m so excited to announce that we’ve moved our Intro I workshop location! It had been a beautiful run at our old location, but something it’s time for something new. Our Intro I Photography Workshops are now held at the beautiful historic Barrington Hall. It has everything you need and more for a successful Photography Workshop. We had a beautiful turn out of guinea pigs to the first workshop held at Barrington Hall. We had a great group of models show up! We try to keep it varied so you can learn how skin tone can affect the exposire of an image just as easily as clothing choices. We also touched a little bit about flattering lighting for women vs. men. Don’t forget to use our 10lb tip! Go for the short lighting!
We also touched base on how to freeze motion! One of our students sent in a marvelous example of this, scroll down for hers!
Backlighting to catch hair highlights and a reflector for bouncing light back into the subject’s face can change the whole dynamic of an image.
We always host an in-class contest for a free photography workshop! This class winner captured a great moment of Rob! He’s laughing, in focus and really well composed. The corner of the brick wall keeps you focus on Rob’s face without being distracted! Good job Kim! Thank you for your wonderful winning image!
But this workshop wasn’t easy to narrow down to a winner. Below were our runner ups. Each image is so different from the next, they really deserve a winner in separate categories. But being a small Photography company, we have to make tough choices! If your images are in the runner ups below, do not be discouraged! Your images are wonderful! We just couldn’t simply give away 5 free workshops!
Rachel: PERFECT settings on your camera for this shot of Caroline. You had the lowest ISO, great speed for your shutter and awesome f-stop! She looks amazing! Maybe in the post process, a slightly tighter crop would make all the difference this image needs, but not even that much. Way to go!
Brian! Such an awesome image! Rob takes charge in this image and it’s beautiful!!
Also, really good thinking outside the box for both the above picture and the one below. I like how you tried to shoot through the weeds. It’s almost there! Kim: Beautiful, Beautiful shot of Kayla! We are loving the darkness of the wood planks behind her and how she still pops and take the lead!
