Urban Photography Workshop Atlanta | Creative Edge

Love shooting in industrial areas, alleyways, places with textures and anywhere that is different and cool.  This Urban Workshop was a great workshop because we had great models, great locations, great weather and a great group of people.  This was a true safari because we went on an adventure and found locations to create great images as we traveled about……… We demonstrated how locations, clothing, lighting, the right lens and camera angles can make all the difference between an OK shot and something amazing.Look how the beautiful sun played off the background and created some flare in this shot.  Do not be afraid to shoot right into the low sun, go for it and you will get some amazing shots.Do not forget to look up because you may find great backgrouds to put in front of the sky. When the sun is low, do not be afraid to put your models right into the sun because it will make all colors vivid and add impact to the image. All of these images shot in this tunnel were taken with a LED video light and a tungsten gel.  I first exposed for the ambient light and then added the amount of video lighting to create the look I was going for..I was walking by and saw this mural of mirrors, so I had Leah lean over and look into it to make this unusual portrait. Two of our students were taking a moment in-between shots while our models were changing and I noticed the wonderful lighting behind them.  So I captured these wonderful images that was very un-expected.  Always be on the alert for moments, emotion, textures, and lighting.
