Night Photography Workshop Atlanta | Creative Edge

Our night workshop was at the GA. Aquarium and Centennial Park, which was a great backdrop having the city of Atlanta around us.  Our night workshop starts when it is still daylight, so you can learn what to do as the light drops light a rock, then we are shooting at sunset, at dusk and then with only night lighting.  Capturing not only the dramatic images of the night, but adding people into the shot means  you can’t just shoot long exposures from a tripod you have to light the models.  This is a very fun workshop we have a few times a year, so make you sign up for the next one, you will love it!By shooting about 30 minutes after sunset when there is just a little light left into the sky and setting our cameras to tungsten white balance is what created the cool blue light in the sky.  Then, we added a LED video light with a tungsten gel to light Anna.Yes, this was a shot we did for our mostly female group of students, I aim to please! At night we walk around and find cool lighting and expose to capture that natural lighting and then add lighting to our models– but not in a way to wash out the cool night light mood.It was completely dark, but we put strobes on the other side of the water and we created daylight..Fun and fabulous…………that’s what everyone says when they finish this workshop!!  There is truly something magical about the light just as, and just after the sun sets and the night lights come up!!!!! Can’t wait for our next NIGHT workshop!!
